ACTIVEWEAR

Contestant #3 – Emily Bryan        (Softball)

(Emily enters with mitt, escorts throw softball to her on stage)
One of Emily’s favorite sports is Softball. She has played since she was little and loves the thrill of the game. Because she spent time playing catch with her grandpa, catching pop flies from center field is her specialty. However, she loves hitting home runs and sliding into home plate. The occasional strike out doesn't get her down because she cheers for her teammates as loud as she can.

                                                                                                                                    Thank you Emily!
FORMAL WEAR
Contestant#3 – Emily Bryan:                (Trevor & Chase)               Braxton Kunde
Emily is the daughter of Tim and Shelley Bryan. She is the second child out of three girls and one boy. Some of her most recent achievements are earning the Honor Armor Diamond Shield award and winning 2nd place in the regional Mathcounts competition leading her team to State. She boasts a 4.0 GPA and has a goal to graduate high school as Valedictorian. She is Vice President of the National Junior Honor Society and is currently raising funds for entrepreneurial women in developing countries.  She is also involved in the Student Ambassador program at Snow Canyon Middle School.

Through this pageant workshop experience, the most valuable thing Emily has learned is how to better present herself on paper as well as in person.

First Pageant Workshop

Today was a great morning with our "Getting to Know You" Breakfast and workshop.
We had some yummy Einstein Bagels, Strudels, grapes and Chocolate Milk & Orange Juice.
We went around the table and had everyone introduce themselves and tell 3 interesting facts about themselves. It was nice getting to know all of these incredible young women.
We have 7 girls that are participating in the pageant this year and they are all so talented.
We were able to go over each category and give the girls ideas of what to where and to start thinking about what they want to do for each category.
Some of the HIGHLIGHTS:
INTERVIEW:  You want to sell yourself to the judges. You want more of a professional look - You can wear flats if they are more comfortable for you. Confidence, eye contact, clear answers.

WALKING - Walking in the high school is a lot different than walking on stage and in a pageant. Be confident, remember POSTURE and don't wear heals that are too tall and uncomfortable for you.

MODESTY - It's a Princess Pageant NOT Miss America. Remember NO spaghetti straps or strapless dresses. A pageant dress is a full length formal dress to the floor. There are so many options about a dress, you can Buy, Borrow, Rent - just make sure you LOVE it and feel confident in the dress and it makes your feel BEAUTIFUL!!

HAIR & MAKE-UP - Plan ahead, try different ways to wear your hair before the night of the pageant. Make sure that it's exactly what you want and that you LOVE. You want to feel confident.
Make sure that the colors you wear compliment your skin tone not only in make-up but clothing.

ACTIVE WEAR - Its fun and helps show the judges your personality and hobbies. You can use props and make it as fun as you want. It doesn't necessarily have to be sports related. Some ideas from the past:
Playing in the Rain, Catching butterflies, Shopping, Hunting, Swimming in the summer, etc.

We then went over walking the pattern. PRACTICE walking the pattern and the stand.
Remember beautiful lines. POSTURE
Such beautiful girls with Heather and our Princess: Maddie
(LtoR) Hailey, Paige, Tegan, Aynsley, Whisper & Ally
(Missing: Brooke)
It's going to be a fun year.
